Voici donc un récapitulatif des avantages de cet élément sur l'élément object, ainsi que quelques démonstrations. On peut espérer que la balise object ne sera plus trop utilisée pour insérer de la vidéo : l'élément video est déjà présent dans Safari 3.1, dans des versions expérimentales d'Opéra, et la version beta1 de Firefox 3.1 qui vient de sortir.

Prototype Window Class : Introduction

This javascript class allows you to add window in a HTML page. This class is based on Prototype. The code is inspired by the powerful script.aculo.us library. You can even use all script.aculo.us effects to show and hide windows if you include effects.js file , but it's not mandatory. It has been tested on Safari, Camino, Firefox and IE6, Opera looks fine.

This projects is a wiki that lives in one self-modifying HTML file. It's perfect to use in your home or office computer, laptop, USB pen drive (along with Portable Firefox if you want) and even in a diskette! It can be used as a personal notepad, calendar, repository for software documentation, and many other things.
