Who would have ever thought that the insane minds behind Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Life of Brian and Monty Python and The Holy Grail would graduate from being one of the biggest cult comedy favorites world wide to the Broadway stage? That’s exactly what happened with the Monty Python musical built for the stage – Spamalot. The original comedy team that made up Monty Python consisted of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. Their brand of comedy first debuted on the BBC in October of 1969 and they didn’t shy away from pushing every imaginable boundary. In fact, their sketches from all those years ago are still considered edgy even today – nearly 40 years later.
