The boys in Metallica have been rocking the world since 1981. Their third album Master of Puppets was released in 1986 and began to earn them some well deserved attention. Unfortunately that attention would never be fully appreciated by bassist Cliff Burton who was killed in September of that year when the band’s tour bus driver lost control and flipped the vehicle, killing Burton in the process. The lineup as most fans know it began when Jason Newsted replaced Burton just two months after the accident. Along with drummer Lars Ulrich, vocalist James Hetfield and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, Newsted would quickly be recognized as one of the best thrash metal bands in the world along with other mega bands like Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth. Their fast paced instrumentals and aggressive approach to music paved the way for a tremendous fan base, making tickets to Metallica’s sold out shows a hot commodity.
