The New York Jets gained thousands of new fans this year with the acquisition of famed Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre after an intense media driven period of talks with Packers management led them to trade him to New York in August of 2008. It was a late victory for the Jets who had originally planned to get Favre in 1991 in the NFL draft only to have the Atlanta Falcons choose him first. While New York already has thousands of loyal and devoted fans but with the addition of such a well known and adored powerhouse at QB, that fan base has grown exponentially.
