This clever collective lets you design custom photo decals (or any artwork) to cover up your bland, standard-issue Swedish furniture. Upload a photo, use their template to make it fit your Ikea furniture from the Malm to the Billy bookcase and they’ll send you the decals to transform “meh” into “meee-yow!” It’s a radically new way of displaying your photos. Think of all the photographic splendor that has yet to grace your room and/or office — the gorgeous snap from your trip to Maui, the badass pic of you and your BFFs, or the sweet mural you shot the other day. And as a bonus, there’s no more need to be embarrassed when you watch that scene in Fight Club.

To create We’re All Gonna Die – 100 meters of existence, he stood on a railroad bridge in Berlin for 20 days, photographing strangers. The result: a print 30 inches high, and 100 METERS wide. Gasp. He captured 178 people in all, each experiencing a beautifully simple moment of their lives, completely unaware. The 50 States Project has brought together 50 photographers from across the USA. Each photographer lives in one of the 50 States and during the year long project each photographer will represent the State where they live. Every two months each photographer will be sent an assignment by e-mail, they then have two months to produce one image in response. The images must represent both their style and the State in which they live.

Puisque Gflu a eu la bonne idée de citer Bachelard dans son précédent post, profitons-en pour faire la connaissance d'un groupe de photographes admirateurs du fameux penseur. Inspirés par une pensée développée dans le livre "Poétique de l'espace", les membres de ce groupe sur Flickr sont à la recherche des "Desire Paths", c'est à dire ces chemins anarchiques que les hommes dessinent sur les pelouses du fait de leurs passages répétés. Alors que les autorités municipales se fatiguent à concevoir des routes et des trottoirs qui gèrent les trajets des habitants d'une ville, la loi du plus court chemin l'emporte souvent sur l'urbanisme et donne naissance à ces voies "naturelles", écrasant l'herbe pour creuser des axes imprévus, symboles de la résistance des hommes aux lois qu'on veut leur imposer. Chacun de ces "chemins de désir", à sa manière, est un discret pied de nez libertaire à l'ordre établi.
