Why Apple Spaces is broken

by 1 other (via)
I have been using virtual desktops, what Apple now calls Spaces™, since 1995 on X11 Unix. So I have quite good experience with this feature. I know what it needs, and I can tell very clearly that although Apple's implementations is the most beautiful version available, it clearly has not been thought through correctly

Firefox on the Mac < Walking Like Giant Cranes

by 1 other (via)
As the Firefox release cycle marches onwards, there’s been a lot of talk about what sort of things are really affecting people day to day that we should fix, particularly on the Mac. If it’s anything, Mac users love to nitpick (guilty as charged). So, fellow Appleites, I put it to you: What sucks about Firefox on the Mac? Send mail to macfirefox at this domain, and let me know what you think. To start you off, here are some things I know people want: * Native Form Widgets (currently scheduled for Firefox 3) * Keychain Integration * Firefox should have a Unified toolbar (not completely hopeless, it turns out) * Performance could be better (as always) If you’ve got more specific nits, that’s great, mail it in. If you think the stuff already on here is really important, I want to hear about it. If there are features in Camino/Safari/OmniWeb/iCab that you absolutely can’t live without, tell me. The more mail I get about this, the better. Feel free to help get the word out that I’m taking suggestions, by the way.

The Best Unknown Mac Apps - 1 » Dustin Bachrach Blog

As a small mac developer, I can relate to a lot of the small, indie developers out there. I thought that it would be great to give a list of some truly great mac software that gets left out of the typical mac software lists. No, on this list you won’t see your Adium, VLC, Photoshop, etc. Little-known, yet still great software. Get ready for Part 1.
