PUBLIC MARKS from dggit with tags photography & photographer

“American Suburb” started as an idea and a mythical place existing not physically but rather in my head. Of course from a purely surface standpoint it is the URL for my portfolio and body of work but in my head, I envisioned an alternative world of sorts… a place that is within America but sitting inside my head. I thought of it as an idea to provide cohesiveness for everything that I do but also to allow total flexibility for my ideas. The subjects and places would vary and I would impose no limits on myself but everything would fit into this “place” that I called “American Suburb”. A photograph that would be part of this work could be from anywhere but there has to be the cohesive elements that define it…

Le Collectif à-vif(s) regroupe des photographes aux parcours professionnels très diffèrents. Il s'est créé autour de l'idée que la photographie est aussi un travail d'équipe, où peuvent s'exprimer solidarité entre les membres et complémentarité des regards. Les photographes du collectif à-vif(s) seront à Copenhague pour la Conférence des Nations Unies sur le climat. Du 6 au 19 décembre 2009, ils vont animer le site copenhague-a-vifs.org en publiant quotidiennement des reportages photographiques et sonores.
