Tired of online ads like I am? I have Firefox’s Adblock Plus and Safari AdBlock installed on my computer, but it becomes rather annoying to keep installing these applications on my multiple machines as well as every time I format them. To make ad blocking simpler I opted to use OpenDNS to block ads on the DNS level. To make this hack work you must configure your router to use OpenDNS’s servers (trust me you will want to do this anyway – their servers are FAST!) by following the OpenDNS tutorials. Secondly you must signup for a free OpenDNS account so you can setup network filters.

C'est un logiciel multiserveur ; aussi vous pouvez l'utiliser pour faire vos propre transferts vers des serveurs FPT. phpWebFtp est à la fois simple à utiliser, présentait un look XP retro, et n'était pas lié qu'à un seul domaine. L'idée est donc d'installer ce client sur son propre serveur. L'installation est facile, et il est même possible de fixer un serveur cible (de sorte qu'il soit impossible d'accéder à d'autres serveurs, et donc totalement inutile pour d'autres gens). L'avantage est que vos données restent chez vous, ce qui est un sentiment très agréable. D'autre part, on se libère de la disponibilité aléatoire de services tels que net2ftp.

Linux only: QuickStart, a free automation utility for Ubuntu Linux systems, makes it easy to perform partial or full system backups of any partition, synchronize folders and update them on a schedule, and take care of other tasks a beginner would normally need to spend serious time researching. The tiny app opens a simple interface listing your choices, although dialog prompts guide you through any steps requiring input. The tools for installing DVD playing codecs, backing up your Master Boot Record, and creating synchronized backups seem particularly helpful, and while I haven't tested every function, a handful of them completed without any problems.
