Web 2.0 technologies offer librarians a great opportunity to enhance the authority of resources that students use on a daily basis, and to push their knowledge and expertise beyond the traditional boundaries of the library. We now consider Wikipedia an essential tool for getting our digital collections out to our users at the point of their information need. We view this as a very low cost way to enhance access to our collections, as well as an effective way to participate in the creation of resources that are used by millions around the world. We will continue to explore how we can take advantage of the opportunities that Web 2.0 technologies offer us when marketing our digital and physical collections.

# Google Wave est ou outil de collaboration qui se situe à mi-chemin entre l’email, la messagerie instantanée et le wiki ; # Une wave est à la fois une discussion et un document, elle peut être exportée et peut encapsuler un certain nombre de social widget (au format Open Social) ; # C’est une application en ligne, de même qu’une plateforme ouverte et extensible (chacun peut proposer son extension) mais également un protocole (que vous pouvez utiliser librement dans vos services / applications) dont le code source est publié (afin de bénéficier de l’apport de la communauté).

C’est une bonne façon de partager les méthodes de travail, de conserver le savoir et de le transmettre. De plus le wiki est indexé permettant de rechercher efficacement et rapidement un sujet précis.
