The Emergency Fund supports experienced photographers with a commitment to documenting social issues, working long-term, and engaging with an issue over time. Projects address critical global issues that have not received the attention they deserve, or budding crises that are still over the horizon. Photographers retain the copyright to their work and distribute it widely: through traditional and new media, in collaboration with nonprofits or NGOs, and on the Emergency Fund website.

Pictory is an online photojournalism magazine that documents love, loss, family, travel, and our lives and culture in big pictures. Anyone can submit a photo story to one of our social documentary themes. We curate the best work from the community into polished photo essays.

Au bon vieux temps du photojournalisme, quand les sujets de la photo se présentaient à nous avec leurs grands yeux pleins de larmes et de souffrance muette, au temps où les auteurs ou les diffuseurs étaient seuls détenteurs d'une parole légitime et audible, cela ne serait jamais arrivé. Mais aujourd'hui, les sujets de la photographie reprennent la parole, démentent les imputations et contrarient le cliché.
