Klik package (klik:// → .cmg)
Klik is an online software repository that uses its own protocol called klik:// (similar to http://) to allow you to install a package from their site by clicking on a hyperlink in your web browser. To use Klik you must first install the packages binutils libstdc++5 rpm gnome-about using Synaptic and then run this command in the terminal: wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O -|sh which downloads and installs the Klik client. Klik completely bypasses both your package manager and your file-system; everything you need to run the program is included in a .cmg-file located on your desktop after the installation is done. You simply double-click the file to start your application. To remove it again, simply delete the .cmg-file

Lubi

Finalmente estou testando o Ubuntu, gracas ao Wubi!
(via)O "problema" do Linux é que os usuários querem que ele seja como o Windows, tudo "facinho" de fazer e de mão beijada (ou quase), aliás isso era uma coisa que eu queria tb, mesmo já sendo relativamente experiente no Linux. O que não pode acontecer é essa facilidade de fazer as coisas não deixe o sistema tb tão vulnerável qto o é no Windows. Quer um exemplo? Só de sacanagem em um hd que eu ia formatar e estava com o Ubuntu e o XP eu digitei no terminal " sudo rm -rf " e simplesmente detonou os arquivos da partição do Windows (que estava montada) e uma pá de coisa da partição do Linux e, "butando" o micro, nem grub tinha mais. Imagine um piru aí qualquer fazer un script com esse comando de modo mais "inteligente" e assim fazer com que o usuário tenha o seu sistema detonado pq o Linux ficou "mais fácil", e esse é só um exemplo.

Adorei o que implementaram: Wubi agora baixa a ISO e rebaixa para verificar. Não seria mais fácil usar MD5 para verificar a integridade?
Isso é só aqui, ou todo mundo tá com esse problema? (ah, to sem drive de DVD/CD, uma vez que eu arrebentei o flat ontem.. =)

Você sabe como trabalhar com camadas em Inkscape? Pois é, o Inkscape também trabalha com camadas, e nesse tutorial estarei explicando passo-a-passo como trabalhar com camadas, além de várias explicações sobre a janela camadas. “Está farto do Windows? Gostava de experimentar o Linux (neste caso o Ubuntu) sem ter que se preocupar com a criação de partições no disco, ou de fazer o resize da actual partição do Windows para instalar o Ubuntu?
Agora é possível, e é tão fácil como instalar e remover uma aplicação no Windows… funciona às mil maravilhas.
Wubi é o seu nome. E é tão simples e ao mesmo tempo fabuloso. O Wubi permite que se instale o Ubuntu (ou o Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Xubuntu) tal como qualquer aplicação do Windows, e cria uma entrada nova do menu de boot to seu PC com a opção para correr o Ubuntu. “Primeiro um resumo sobre o Wubi: O Wubi (Ubuntu Installer for Windows) é um executável windows que permite instalar (e desinstalar) o Ubuntu dentro de uma partição windows, sem particionamento, e que agora vem incluído por default na versão 8.04. O processo de instalação é extremamente simplificado para usuários habituados ao Windows.
Agora a dica em si. Se você tem uma iso ou cd de uma distribuição derivada do Ubuntu que não oferece um Wubi personalizado ainda, é possível usar o Wubi oficial do Ubuntu. Para isso, basta executar o Wubi com o parâmetro “–skipmd5check” na mesma pasta onde está o iso ou com o cd no drive. Aprendi isso lendo o WubiGuide, wiki do ubuntu: wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide. É claro que para funcionar o sistema derivado tem de manter certa similaridade com o processo se instalação do Ubuntu, então não vá pensando que vai dar certo com qualquer um, ok? Let’s face it, deciding to nuke your existing operating system installation and replace it with a completely different OS isn’t the sort of task that you should approach lightly. One of the barriers to Linux adoption is the fact that many people find the idea of wiping their Windows installation a daunting thing. Sure, the widespread adoption of the Live CD with allows users to boot into a working Linux environment has made taking a Linux distro for a test drive easier, but a Live CD experience falls far short of what you can expect from an installed Linux experience.
