amule cvs20070116 for Ubuntu Edgy - 千里之行，始于足下…… - by 天一先生 (Leo Tzao)
不过因为amule是基于wxGTK的，ubuntu中的wxgtk2.6.3再和amule 2.1.3配合时候有些问题，关闭搜索标签页会导致amule死掉，在我的机器上，较长时间运行也会导致没有响应。关于搜索标签页关闭死掉的bug，按照amule作者的说法，这是wxgtk2.6本身的bug而不是amule的。
没办法，鉴于我是常年的驴友，这么一款不稳定的amule实在令我不能安心。好在基于wxgtk2.8的下一个发布版amule2.2.0已经临近出来了，目前amule官方的cvs版本也已经比较稳定，于是，迫不及待了，从网上拖来了wxgtk2.8版本for ubuntu的包，然后又从cvs下载了最新的源码，编译了一个cvs20070116版本的amule，经过这几天的试用，感觉比原来的2.1.3要稳定许多，没那么脆弱了。

编译依赖：除了安装基本的编译工具之外，为了顺利编译源代码，我们也要把该程序所需要的依赖安装好。Ubuntu 系统可以通过 sudo apt-get build-dep 命令后跟包名的方式来准备所需的依赖。如果在 Ubuntu 中无法通过这样的办法来安装依赖的话，那么应该善于阅读源码包中所含的 README、INSTALL 等文件，一般程序作者都有说明，只需按要求做即可。

在安装之前需要确定的一件事情是，如何选择安装 CD。根据本文的要求，下载 Alternate install CD 是比较适合的。为了便于安装，应该将下载后的 ISO 文件烧录成光盘。
首先，安装 Ubuntu 基本系统。以 Ubuntu 6.10 为例，当插入安装盘后，计算机从光盘引导系统，这时在初始安装菜单中选择“Install a command-line system”，之后与一般的安装过程并无二致。

如我想將 gimp 設定為按 ctrl-alt-g 就自動開啟。
打開 menu->Applications->System Tools->Configuration Editor 這個程式，然後找到 /apps/metacity/gloal_keybindings 這個設定項目。
參考附圖，在右方的 run_commn_?(?代表1-12，也就是說可設定 12 個)，就是我們可設定開啟程式之處，以本例來說，使用 run_command_1，在 run_command_1 按兩下後，輸入 keybinding 值，如附圖所示。

再來打開 menu->Applications->System Tools->Configuration Editor 這個軟體(也就是 gconf-editor)，找到 /desktop/gnome/volume_manager/autoplay_vcd_command 這個項目，將 value 由 totem %m 改為 totem vcd:///dev/hdc 即可，這樣你在放入 vcd totem 自動播放 vcd 就應該沒問題了。
