SVG files can be viewed using recent versions of the Firefox broswer, and you can embed them into html using an object or embed tag (can’t use the standard img tag). They look great - crystal clear.

The FakeSmile script has come a long way since David released it a few months ago. It implements a decent amount of SMIL and SMIL Timesheets so that you can actually use these technologies now while the browser vendors catch up. David has also recently included a full version of jQuery inside the FakeSmile script, so it’s beefed up with lots of power now. I think he will probably be releasing minimized/compressed versions eventually.

Open-Mashups is a Firefox extension based on technologies such as SVG, XBL, XSLT and XPCom. The author of the extension (Fabrice Desré, from Orange Labs - France Telecom) told me a future version of this tool will be based on XulRunner in order to provide a cross platform Desktop widget engine :)

Comme quoi on fait des choses bien aussi dans la communauté francophone.

SMIL is a specification defining a set of elements that control animations. This is called declarative animations. FakeSmile is a SMIL implementation written in ECMAScript. It is primarily targeted to SVG animations.
