"Ecoville est un petit jeu de simulation pour les fanas de Sim-City. Il existe depuis pas mal de temps mais je trouve qu'il atteint toujours son objectif : sensibiliser adultes et enfants (à partir de 10-12 ans) à la difficulté de concilier urbanisme et environnement. Développé par l'ADEME (Agence de l'environnement et de la maîtrise de l’énergie), il est gratuit et peut se jouer en ligne ou être téléchargé (sur les ordinateurs d'une école par exemple)."

Dans cette interview, Michael Stora, psychologue et psychanalyste, décrit l'intérêt et les modalités d'utilisation de Second Life dans la thérapie de certains de ses patients. Il montre notamment comment l'avatar et ses relations avec les autres permettent un travail de distanciation particulièrement prégnant et utile pour le patient. Ce dernier peut en outre simuler des comportements pour mieux se confronter à ses fantasmes, ses angoisses, ses relations particulières avec certains proches, etc.

"Troubled Waters" is an authentic task dealing with different factors and how they change certain parameters in a river. Several of these parameters are dissolved oxygen, pH, nitrates, and fecal coliform bacteria.
Students will be using the modeling tool STELLA. Students will run a river model, interpret graphs, and adjust a variable such as wind speed and sewage load to determine the effects on Dissolved oxygen levels.
