与民国时期相比，今天的肖像摄影时尚中的每一个人都显得底气不足和浮于表面，甚至还比不上民国时期的黑社会老大那样的气定神闲，内心章法有度。从 1949年到文革前后，中国进入了一个人人自危的时期，不仅要背负起意识形态的紧箍咒，还要彻底抛弃任何可能的人性享受。这种状况的心理惯性可能现在还没有彻底消除，尤其是现在的中国重新处在新的十字路口，正在进入一个无规则游戏和浮躁的时期。即使是经济领域的成功者，似乎也做不到气定神闲，自律自足，各种不确定性随时可能倾袭而来。
