The point of “Open” in OpenID

All OpenID actually provides is a mechanism for asserting ownership over a URL and then “proving” that assertion. We can build a pyramid of interesting things on top of this, but that assertion is really all OpenID gives us (well, that and a globally unique identifier).

Members get all the features of myOpenID, but get a URL at your domain instead of at myopenid.com. You still own the domain, we just host the identity pages and handle all of the other OpenID stuff.

Tiens voilà une excellente initiative qui devrait faire le bonheur des webmasters de sites et blogs qui utilisent le systèmes d'authentification Open ID pour leurs visiteurs.
Open ID Selector est un widget que vous allez pouvoir installer sur vos sites après avoir rempli un simple formulaire qui adaptera le Widget à votre site ou blog.
Ce widget offre à vos visiteurs la possibilité de s'identifier avec un des systèmes proposés ou, si leur identifiant Open ID ne fait pas parti de la liste, ils pourront choisir " other " et s'identifier tout de même.
