Michael(tm) Smith » WebKit adds support for the HTML5 <ruby> element
Current versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer also have native support for ruby, and you can also get ruby support in Firefox by installing Piro’s XHTML Ruby add-on (and for more details, see his XHTML ruby add-on info page) — so we are well on the way to seeing the HTML5 ruby feature supported across a range of browsers.

HTML5 Validator Needs Updating. from Maykel Loomans on 2009-10-20 (www-validator@w3.org from October 2009)
Ever since the HTML5 footer has been redefined I have changed the markup of http://www.miekd.com/
At the current stage, the validator has still not been updated to
match this spec change. I am aware of the giant draft/beta sticker on
the validator, but I would really love to have an up-to-date validator.
QuirksBlog: There is no WebKit on Mobile
This is not consistency; it’s thinly veiled chaos.

Sounds like you want a DTD or XML Schema that you can edit to your satisfaction.
HTML 5 with MathML validation problem from Joe Java on 2009-08-20 (www-validator@w3.org from August 2009)
The document at: [...] validates as XHTML 1.1 plus MathML 2.0.
I made the appropriate changes for the doctype and the content-type to convert to being a HTML 5 document. [...] I get 2 types of repeating errors [...] I have no idea what the second error is complaining about.
I need an HTML 5 language lawyer to explain what is wrong and how to fix these errors.
Re: Text not allowed in element script in this context. from Henri Sivonen on 2009-08-12 (www-validator@w3.org from August 2009)
HTML5 allows this, but the HTML5 validator doesn't, yet.

HTML 5 is a mess. Now what? – Jeffrey Zeldman Presents The Daily Report
So I’ve tended to be plain accepting that HTML 5 will be whatever it is, and if its bad its bad because of Hickson and a certain crowd. I have no power to affect the obsessive thoughts of certain individuals one way or the other. I’m also probably representative of quite a large group of the silent disenchanted who will continue to code in HTML 4 or XHTML 1 well into the future and fight on building websites in whatever tag soup monstrosity we are burdened with on the day.
An Unofficial Q&A about the Discontinuation of the XHTML2 WG
Which one should I use: HTML5 or XHTML5?
In most cases, the answer is HTML5. XHTML5 doesn’t work in IE. (Just like technical XHTML has never worked in IE. Only the marketing kind of XHTML has worked in IE.)

Daring Fireball Linked List: Adobe on HTML 5
Translation into plain English: We’re not worried about HTML 5 because we know IE will never support it.
C'est en effet bien parti pour.
