Want to test the Unity before Ubuntu Light is released to the public? Add ppa:canonical-dx-team/une to your system’s software sources and install the Unity from software center. Then do a reboot and voila!
Of course, the prerequisite is that you need to have either Ubuntu standard or Ubuntu Netbook Edition installed.

O Google Gadget é uma opção bem interessante para obter várias informações. Bem como clima, cotação do AdSense, hora, calendário do Google (acesso à agenda), calculadora, leitor de RSS, jogos e outros.
Para instalá-lo é super simples, basta digitar:
sudo aptitude install google-gadgets-gtk -y
Isso instalará o Google Gedgets e haverá uma opção em:
Aplicativos –> Internet –> Google Gedgets (GTK)
