unoconv converts between any document format that OpenOffice understands. It uses OpenOffice's UNO bindings for non-interactive conversion of documents.
Supported document formats include Open Document Format (.odt), MS Word (.doc), MS Office Open/MS OOXML (.xml), Portable Document Format (.pdf), HTML, XHTML, RTF, Docbook (.xml), and more.

Comment ouvrir les fichiers en provenance de MS-Office 2007 ?
Microsoft a changé le format des fichiers de sa suite bureautique pour du OOXML. De nouvelles extensions sont donc apparues avec une 4e lettre (x pour xml) : docx xlsx pptx ppsx
OpenOffice.org 2.x (pour le moment) ne sait pas lire ou écrire dans ce format.
Pour rester compatible, vous avez donc plusieurs solutions :
* Demander à vos correspondants sous MS-Office 2007 d'enregistrer leur document dans un format compatible comme la version 97-2003
* Installer l'outil de conversion à sens unique de Microsoft

OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-ins for Office

The goal for this project is to provide translators to allow for interoperability between applications based on ODF (OpenDocument) 1.0 standards and Microsoft OpenXML based Office applications. As a part of this interoperability initiative, add-ins are being developed that can be installed on top of Microsoft Office Word (document processing), Excel (spreadsheet) and PowerPoint (presentation) applications (Office 2007 / 2003 / XP version) to allow for opening and saving OpenDocument format / ODF files (.odt, .ods and .odp) that adheres to ODF 1.0 specifications. We also provide command line translator utilities that allow doing batch conversions.
The converter is based on XSL transformations between two XML formats, along with some pre- and post-processing to manage the packaging (zip / unzip), schema incompatibility processings and the integration into Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. We chose to use an Open Source development model that allows developers from all around the world to participate & contribute to the project.
Along with the Add-ins for Microsoft Word (v1.0 released), Excel (under development) and PowerPoint (under development), we also provide a command line translator that allows doing batch conversions. These translators can also be run on the server side for certain scenarios.

odf-converter-integrator est un outil pratique pour ouvrir les fichiers Microsoft Office 2007 (le nouveau format Open XML, .docx, .xlsx et .pptx). La conversion est d'excellente qualité et disponible pour les plateformes Linux ou Windows.
Il vous suffit de lancer le programme, d'ouvrir le fichier .docx, xlsx ou pptx et la conversion s'effectue automatiquement au format ODF.

Je manque d'arguments pour le faire adopter à mon boulot, et ce n'est pas faute de les avoir épuisés. La gratuité des suites logicielles ne venant même pas à la rescousse, comme si le ''gratuit'' ne pouvait rivaliser avec le très ''cher''. Il y a encore bien des inerties …
