List of Tower Defense Games

by Duilen
The top tower defense game made $100,000 last year. (DTD) There is a good reason for it. These games are mildly addicting.

WWW-Talk Apr-Jun 1993: Standardizing new HTML features

by karlcow

Many browsers now go beyond the current DTD and it is only right that we update the DTD to reflect the best ideas. I hope to have a preliminary draft available within a week or two to fire off discussions. The aim is to evolve a consensus view of what extensions are appropriate and which preserve the overall simplicity of HTML.

Tread lightly aka Be nice with well-known URI

Addressing the problem of scalable access to web resources is not a simple one. There are a number of ways it can be approached at a number of different levels in the web architecture stack. The W3C Technical Architecture Group has agreed to investigate the issue. ¶ In the meantime, if you're writing GlassFish[L] servlets or other applications that are performing XML processing, you can take advantage of the XML Catalog resolver built into GlassFish to directly reduce the burden your applications are creating. Activating the Right Layout Mode Using the Doctype

by Hiéroglyphe & 8 others
In order to deal with both old tag soup written to old browser quirks and new CSS-compliant pages, Firefox (and other Mozilla Gecko-based browsers), Safari, Opera (7 and later), Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Mac IE 5, and Konqueror (3.2 and later) have two main layout modes. In one mode the layout engine attempts to render conforming pages according the CSS specifications. In the other mode the layout engine tries to mimic old browsers. In Firefox these modes are known as “the Standards mode” and “the Quirks mode” respectively. In this document the same names are used also when referring to the modes of the other browsers.

Making mod_proxy_html smarter « niq’s soapbox

by karlcow (via)
I had contemplated adding DTD support using the code from mod_publisher. But that’s OTT for a specifically-HTML module. Instead, I’ve added the capability to check HTML conformance to HTML4/XHTML1, using the HTML knowledge built into libxml2.
