Billy Cobham, né le 16 mai 1944 à Panama, est l'un des meilleurs et des plus influents batteurs connus. Célèbre pour son jazz fusion dans les années 1970, avec le Mahavishnu Orchestra : il met en place un style de batterie influencé par le rock et le funk.
Il fut un des premiers batteurs ambidextres.
