Will Tomorrow Be The End Of The Universe?
You see, there are a bunch of Geeks that have this gigantic toy, the largest machine ever built - a giant, ring-shaped atom smasher called the “Large Hadron Collider” (LHC). The thing is 27 kilometers around and will hurl a few tiny amounts of matter close to light speed in opposite directions around the rings of the LHC. Then, when they’re at full speed, they will cross the beams and smash the matter together inside four giant detectors. Didn’t they ever watch the Ghost Busters? You NEVER cross the beams!

Black Holes In My Backyard?
The Hadron collider will be smashing protons moving at 99.999999% of the speed of light into each other to recreate conditions existing a fraction of a second after the big bang. According to some theoretical models, tiny black holes could be produced in collisions at the LHC. They would then very quickly decay into what is known as Hawking radiation (the tinier the black hole, the faster it evaporates) which would be detected by experiments. But any physicist will tell you that there is no way to prove that generated black holes will decay!
Gov. Romney Shuts Down Big Dig Tunnel
Gov. Mitt Romney ordered an immediate shutdown of the Ted Williams Tunnel's eastbound lanes Thursday as the investigation continued into a deadly collapse of ceiling panels in a connecting tunnel.
No reasons for the closure were immediately released. The governor has been overseeing the inspections of the Big Dig tunnels since shortly after the fatal accident July 10 that killed Milena Del Valle, 38, as she and her husband drove to the airport.
