En France, l'allocation personnalisée d'autonomie (APA) est une mesure sociale en faveur des personnes âgées et dépendantes : Elle constitue un droit universel dont l'objet est la prise en charge des personnes âgées en perte d'autonomie. Elle permet de bénéficier des aides et services nécessaires à l'accomplissement des actes essentiels de la vie. C'est une aide personnalisée et répond aux besoins particuliers de chaque bénéficiaire.
