SuperCollider » About

by Emaux & 1 other
SuperCollider is an environment and programming language for real time audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. It provides an interpreted object-oriented language which functions as a network client to a state of the art, realtime sound synthesis server. SuperCollider was written by James McCartney over a period of many years, and is now an open source (GPL) project maintained and developed by various people. It is used by musicians, scientists, and artists working with sound.

ixi audio

by Emaux
ixi audio is an experimental project concerned with the creation of digital musical instruments and environments for generative music. We are interested in the computer as a workshop for building non-conventional tools for musicians, i.e. not trying to imitate or copy the tools that we know from the world of acoustic instruments or studio technology. We currently work with open source software such as SuperCollider, ChucK and Pure Data, but our aim is to distribute our applications packaged in a way that allows everybody to use them. Simplicity and ease of use together with depth in interaction and expressive scope is the aim of our experimental music software.

CRCA - Center for Research in Computing and the Arts - Research : Computer Music

by Emaux
Computer music has been an integral part of CRCA since its inception. Computer music projects at CRCA cover a broad range of spectra, from pure research to technically advanced creative endeavors. Currently, research in spatialized audio, computer music languages, interactive performance, and synthesis techniques are conducted at CRCA. CRCA is the home of Pd, the latest graphical language authored by Miller Puckette, and CARL, which was developed at the Center for Music Experiment (CME) by F. Richard Moore et al.
