How I learned to stop worrying and love REST - Mike Mayo
By following the REST style, I would have saved myself either A) having to alter my iOS code and resubmit to the store, or B) time spent researching alternate caching methods and implementing them in Rails. As it stands, my partially-RESTful API is going to cost me (and possibly the client) more time before we can call the project finished.

Time Scales - GitHub
D3's time scale is an extension of d3.scale.linear that uses JavaScript Date objects as the domain representation. Thus, unlike the normal linear scale, domain values are coerced to dates rather than numbers; similarly, the invert function returns a date. Most conveniently, the time scale also provides suitable ticks based on time intervals, taking the pain out of generating axes for nearly any time-based domain.

openphoto/frontend - GitHub
OpenPhoto works similarly to Flickr, Smugmug and other photo sharing services with one major difference: you retain ownership and give OpenPhoto access to use them. All photos, tags and comments are stored in your personal cloud accounts with companies like Amazon, Rackspace or Google. This means you can easily switch between OpenPhoto services, use more than one at a time or stop using them altogether while retaining all of your photos, tags and comments.

Kaiping Tower Houses (“Dialou”) » Tenuous Resilience
These houses, thus, had to serve dual roles: to project an image of luxury, with newfound wealth and culture represented by ostentatious ornament with a distinct western influence, and to protect that wealth from marauding bandits (apparently a big problem at the time).

polis: Moving On Up? Outdoor Escalators in Urban Environments
Ascension sociale… ?In Comuna 13 of Medellin, Colombia's largest city, a recently built 1,260-foot long escalator snakes across the hillside shantytown in six separate divisions. As part of the neighborhood's larger urban regeneration project, this massive outdoor escalator cuts down the time to traverse Comuna 13, reportedly one of Medellin's poorest and most violent neighborhoods, from 35 minutes to six minutes on foot.
