PluginsNoLongerSupported - tenfourfox - Explaining plugin (non)support. - Mozilla for Power Macintosh - Google Project Hosting
No major plugin is being maintained for Power Macs any more: Flash stopped updates with Flash 10.1.102.64 in November 2010, and QuickTime 7 for the PowerPC was decommissioned with the release of QuickTime 7.7 and OS X Lion in August 2011. (Tiger users have not had an update since QT 7.6.4 in September 2009.)

Before and After Shots of Joggers - My Modern Metropolis
Last summer, Sacha Goldberger decided he would take on a very interesting project. He assembled a team who helped him create an outdoor studio at Bois de Boulogne, a park located near Paris that's 2 1/2 times the size of New York's Central Park. He stopped joggers, asking them for a favor - would they sprint for him and then pose right after for his camera? Many obliged. Out of breath, these joggers showed an overwhelming amount of fatigue on their faces.
The Gmail man « Otaku, Cedric's blog
It was a fascinating angle in 2005 while Gmail was still new and under all kinds of scrutiny, but today, who cares that your emails are automatically scanned, really? Even before Gmail, ISP’s already had the ability to read all your emails, but it has never really stopped anyone from using the email service of their choice.
Mobile Opportunity: Fearless Predictions for 2011
the cost of freeIf you gave them free hardware, like a cameraphone, they'd take it of course. But when it came time to pay for camera-related services, they took one look at the first month's bill and then stopped sending photos to each other. That's why multimedia messaging was a business failure.

Good Designers Ask “Why?” - Retinart
been there done thatThe client, or some of the nastier ones, think along these lines, but aren’t stopped by the cure carrying designer. They demand we do it their way. And that’s fine. What isn’t fine is when the designer doesn’t question the decisions. Because when you, the designer, doesn’t question and just acts, then you simply become an interface that sits dumbly between the client and the software. You know the magic buttons to press, you have the software and the large monitor. Apparently this makes a designer.

Freedom to film // Current
WORLDbytes’ crews of young volunteers learning to shoot alternative news programmes are regularly stopped from filming on the streets of London. Yet it is not against the law to film in public spaces, to investigate what the public think and let people have their say on issues of the day. Sick of being stopped, volunteers made a stand against the arbitrary interference suffered by photographers and film makers and achieved a one day victory for citizen journalism. In future they’ll certainly question instructions to ‘move on’ and need your support.

Internet Alchemy » Representing Time in RDF Part 1
Way back in 2006 I wrote a blog post concerning the modelling of time in RDF (see Refactoring Bio With Einstein Part 3: Temporal Invariants. That post also provoked some discussion in the blogosphere. Although I haven’t written anything on the subject for the past three years I haven’t stopped thinking about it. In fact I’ve been working quite hard on the problem, mainly by modelling real data, especially geographical information. This is the first of a series of blog posts describing my experiments. I’d like to thank Leigh Dodds and Jeni Tennison who gave me valuable feedback on an earlier version of this write-up.

Stavrohori (Σταυροχώρι). A place that I had driven through many times but had never stopped. Turned out to be a great place, full of empty buildings.
DesignNotes by Michael Surtees » Blog Archive » 12 months of condensed DesignNotes in 2008
I wanted to combine some of my photography with a listing of location. Another idea with good intentions, problem was it took a lot of time to map it out and I had no way of exporting the data offline if I wanted to. So after a while I stopped posting to that map.
