Neo Tokyo (迷宮物語, Meikyû Monogatari?, lit. Labyrinth Tales, aka Mani Mani Labyrinth Tales) is a science fiction anthology film conceived by producer Masao Maruyama. The animated shorts are written and directed by Rintaro, Yoshiaki Kawajiri and Katsuhiro Otomo, based on the work of Japanese novelist Taku Mayumura.Rintaro's Labyrinth Labyrinthos is an exploration into the maze of a little girl's mind. Kawajiri's The Running Man focuses on a deadly Formula-1 race. Otomo's Construction Cancellation Order is a cautionary tale about man's dependency on technology.Two of the shorts are notable for prominently featuring pieces of famous Western classical music: "Gymnopédies No. 1" by Erik Satie is used in Labyrinth, and "Morning" from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suites is used in a highly ironic manner in Construction Cancellation Order.The film premiered April 15, 1986 in Japan.

Big news from Twentieth Century Fox International this morning, announcing that they will cease to provide 35mm prints of their films for Hong Kong and Macau cinemas commencing 1 January 2012. After that date, all Fox content will be provided through DCI-compliant digital formats only.

Abandoned vehicles litter northbound Lake Shore Drive on Wednesday morning.

This morning newly elected Governor, Jerry Brown, released his 2011-12 Budget proposal, calling it “painful” and one that “requires sacrifice from every sector of the state, but we have no choice.”  The plan recommends a whopping $12.5 billion in cuts and $12 billion in revenue options in order to address the staggering $25 billion Budget, as well as a “vast and historic restructuring of services,” as part of the Governor’s realignment proposal.

“My new mantra is: ‘I will make a product that people want to pay for and that they will be happy to pay for.’ I wake up in the morning and I say that. And I go to sleep at night and say that. It really changes everything.”

Although Apple announced it would issue reservation tickets yesterday afternoon for the iPad's debut this morning, to prevent customers from rushing for them, only about 10 people were lined up for the products at 4pm yesterday, willing to wait throughout the night to be the first batch of buyers.
