Codex » Info

by sbrothier
Codex is a weekly music podcast hosted by Jean Snow, recorded in Tokyo, Japan. A long, long time ago in a country far, far away (that would be Canada) he used to have a college radio show. He had two of them, actually, first when he was truly a university student — believe it or not, it was called The Jean Snow Show — and then 10 years ago when he was back in Canada for a year, he did another show on the same station (CKUM) which he decided to call Codex (for reasons that have long been forgotten). He’s long missed those days of hosting a weekly music show — in a proper studio — and although he can’t replicate that same environment, he’s recently started doing similar but on the net, in podcast form.

It had nothing to do with the fact that Google Photos is rolling out new innovation on a weekly basis while Flickr is still stuck in 2004.

Goodbye Open (and Why I’m Staying at Yahoo!) « hueniverse

by karlcow & 1 other

For the most part, the movement that started with OpenID and OAuth is largely over. All the cool kids got grownup jobs and have been mostly missing. Think of the people you used to hear from on a weekly basis, and then try to remember when was the last time they had something new or provocative to say.

[… cut…]

I also realized just how destructive choosing standards as a career path can be. The standards world is very demanding and will suck every free minute you have. Most people contribute very little, and at the end, a handful of people end up carrying all the load. The problem is, no one wants to foot the bill for those suckers. Only a handful of very large corporations (mostly telecommunication and hardware) support employees doing standards full time, and mostly to serve their self-interest.

Download Defraggler 1.19.192 - FileHippo.com

by m.meixide
Most defrag tools only allow you to defrag an entire drive. Defraggler lets you specify one or more files, folders, or the whole drive to defragment. When Defraggler reads or writes a file, it uses the exact same techniques that Windows uses. Using Defraggler is just as safe for your files as using Windows. At a glance, you can see how fragmented your hard drive is. Defraggler's drive map shows you blocks that are empty, not fragmented, or needing defragmentation. * Give your hard drive a quick touch-up with Quick Defrag * Organizes empty disk space to further prevent fragmentation * Defragment while you sleep - and wake up with a faster PC. Set Defraggler to run daily, weekly or monthly * Full Windows OS and Multi-lingual support * Supports 37 major languages
